Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum

Camp Gordon Johnston Museum mission is to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret historically significant artifacts and history related to the Amphibious Soldiers that trained at this WWII training center from 1942-1946. Most item are donated by soldiers or their family. The museum is responsible for exhibiting and interpreting the history of the units that were trainers and being trained with the goal to support post education, training, research, and historical exhibits and programs.

Destination Archaeology Resource Center

Located inside the Florida Public Archaeology Network headquarters in downtown Pensacola, the Destination Archaeology Resource Center is an archaeology museum open to the public. Inside you will learn about the amazing archaeological sites that you can visit and experience throughout the state. Our exhibits include displays about both land and underwater archaeology sites. We showcase heritage sites open to the public within the eight regions of the FPAN with traditional and interactive displays, including touchscreens, tablet computers and artifacts. Additionally, our museum hosts a variety of free exhibits, events, and programs throughout the year.

The University of West Florida Historic Trust manages Historic Pensacola, which includes the T. T. Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum, the Pensacola Children's Museum, Historic Pensacola Village, the Pensacola Museum of Art, the Hilton Green Research Library, and the Voices of Pensacola in downtown Pensacola as well as Arcadia Mill Archaeological Site and Homestead in Milton, FL. Our mission is to collect, preserve, interpret, and share the history of Northwest Florida. COVID hours: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays from 10:00-1:00 and 1:00-4:00.
