The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens holds the world’s largest concentration of artwork created by internationally renowned sculptor Albin Polasek much of which is on display in his historic home and studio and the 3.5-acre sculpture garden. The collection includes more than 500 objects by Polasek including sketches, paintings, molds, and sculpture. It also contains thousands of pieces of archival material including original works on paper, books, photographs, press clippings, articles, correspondence, and legal documents. The museum’s largest and most significant works of art are displayed in the outdoor sculpture garden where there are 50+ works on permanent display created by Polasek, his first wife Ruth Sherwood, and several contemporary artists. Built-in 1949 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Polasek’s home & studio is furnished with his own work, his European decorative art and objects collection, his original sculptor’s tools, and artwork by notable contemporaries. The museum is one of only 55 members listed on the National Trust’s Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios. We offer guided tours of the historic Polasek residence and chapel, an outdoor sculpture garden, rotating exhibits, and a gift shop. Join us to explore the legacy of this distinguished sculptor, witness the historic Capen-Showalter House, and immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Winter Park.

The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens is very pleased to host A Matter of Time: Sculpture by Paul Baliker featuring artwork by the renowned Florida sculptor Paul Baliker celebrating his contributions as an artist and environmentalist.
An accomplished and self-taught artist located in Palm Coast, Florida, Baliker creates sculptures that are intended to elicit a sense of responsibility to our environment. His unique process transforms locally found cedar driftwood into sophisticated, fantastical sculptures featuring nature’s creatures and the human figure.
Many years of spending time in Nature have provided the artist with inspiration and at the same time made him aware of the ongoing exploitation and threats to our natural world. It is Baliker’s hope that viewers of his works will develop a similar understanding and become inspired to get involved with preservation and conservation.
Artwork is available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the museum.
